ViscoStat Clear is a transparent solution of 25% aluminum chloride in the form of a gel. It is recommended to use this preparation for staunching minor bleeding in the anterior region because it eliminates bleeding without any discoloration or deposits.
Aluminum chloride causes the collagen at the ends of the capillaries to swell and close. This is a clear advantage when working in the anterior region, where aesthetics are so important. This is because the possibility of the coagulum or the remnants of the bleeding-stopping preparation sticking to the prepared tooth, which causes temporary discoloration of hard or soft tissues, is avoided.
Note: The method of using ViscoStat Clear gel differs from the use of ViscoStat based on iron sulphate.
