Application:

Mainly as a reaction solvent, extraction, low polar eluent in liquid chromatography (also HPLC). Being much less harmful than chloroform, it has largely displaced this solvent from organic preparation.

In dentistry: the fastest solvent for root canal filling, especially recommended for removing endomethason and gutta-percha.

Take special care when using methylene chloride! Protect the respiratory tract, eyes and skin. Do not swallow!
