Made of NiTi (nickel-titanium) alloy, they are much more flexible than steel reamers (about 10 times). Endostar NiTi K dilators are often the first tools introduced into the canal to assess pulp sensitivity, patency and canal width. They can be used with rotational movements in a much larger range than with NiTi K files. The nickel-titanium alloy used is more durable than steel, which is why 2 to 3 times more canals can be prepared with such instruments.
Maximum 1-10 times depending on the size, provided that visual inspection by the dentist before the next use shows that the instrument is not damaged by previous use, is not bent (except for bending the instrument by the dentist to the curvature of the canal), deformed, shows no signs of "fatigue" of the instrument's blade. Using the instrument more times than recommended may break the blade in the canal.
Sterilization
Non-sterile products. They must be sterilized before use. Instruments can be sterilized multiple times in a steam autoclave at 134°C. Recommended sterilization time: 3 minutes at 2.1 bar overpressure. Instruments can be disinfected in mild disinfectants and washed in ultrasonic cleaners.
