Porcelain etcher and silane allow the repair of prosthetic restorations in the office, directly in the patient's mouth.
Porcelain Etch Ultradent porcelain etchant is used for etching porcelain when repairing prosthetic restorations in the patient's mouth, as well as for etching porcelain veneers, crowns or inlays before their cementation.
The silane is applied to the porcelain after it has been etched with a porcelain etchant prior to the application of the bonding system.
Both the porcelain etchant and silane are packed in convenient syringes with appropriate brush applicators (tips). The dense, gel-like, yellow porcelain etchant contains fluoric acid buffered so that no harmful fumes are released (which may be the case with technician porcelain etchants). As a result, the porcelain can be etched in the patient's mouth. If the material is used intraorally, it is recommended to protect soft tissues with the light-cured Opal Dam protective resin or Etch Arrest gel.
